This year, Leioa Catering School is celebrating the 7th edition of the Annual Gastronomic Conference. It started this Monday,February 20th at 11 o’clock.

David de Jorge, the host from the Robin Food TV program, will inaugurate the conference in The Science and Technology school’s auditorium (Leioa  university campus).

The conference is aimed at all students from our school. It is an end to their academic formation and the beginning to their training in working centres.

From February 20th to 24th, we will have the opportunity to attend activities in three different blocks.

The first block will take place in Lukitxene Restaurant. Monday’s Menu will be in charge of the Japanese cooks, Kimitoshi Arisaka, Takehiko Shoji and Ryoichi Saito. From Tuesday to Friday, you will have the opportunity to taste a gourmet menu elaborated by cooks coming from El Corral de la Morería (Madrid), Casa Garras (Carranza), Aizian (Bilbao) and Perretxiko (Vitoria-Gasteiz), who will share their knowledge with our students.

The second block will take place in the Alkatene Restaurant. From Tuesday to Thursday, the menu will be prepared by several different Catering Schools (Galdakao, Llanes and Gamarra) and on Friday, Iñaki Madariaga, Euskadi’s champion, will prepare a sukalki.

Finally, in the third block, we will have different talks and workshops for the students:  different tastings of marzipans and oils, entrepreneurship and some other activities, both formative and recreational.

We hope the conference meets the expectations generated by previous editions.
